Our story
Same vision, new hands.
Our story began in 2002 with a clear vision: to supply the events industry with reliability, offering the highest quality, most durable products available. That commitment has been the foundation of our success.
Today, as we look back on a proud history, we are also stepping into an exciting new chapter. Following the retirement of our founders, long standing team members Daniel Wilson and Jemima Soltys have proudly taken the reins.
Bringing over 30 years of combined experience at Instant Marquees, Daniel and Jemima are deeply passionate about upholding the reputation for quality, reliability and personal service you’ve come to expect. Supported by the ongoing guidance of our original founders, this transition isn’t about changing direction - it’s about safeguarding our trusted legacy for the years to come.
How we got here
Twenty years of small improvements

2002
Instant Marquees begins
Founded to supply the events industry with structures built for repeated commercial use rather than a weekend in the garden.

2005
Neoprene jackets fitted as standard
We started fitting neoprene to every upper frame joint to stop metal abrading canopy fabric. Two decades on, we’re still the only UK manufacturer who does it as standard.

2006
UK-made PVC canopies
High-frequency welded rather than stitched, from European-sourced Dickson and St Clair material, and proven on market pitches ever since.

2014
The welded footplate
Welded to the upstand and riveted to the leg, replacing the expanding pins that fail under heavy use. Eleven years in service and not one reported failure.

2021
The Ultra HD and a new scissor profile
Our best frame yet, with a redesigned oval scissor tube that puts aluminium where the wear happens and takes it out where it doesn’t.

2023
Merger with Jay Jay Sports
Instant Marquees Ltd and local sportswear & printing brand Jay Jay Sports Ltd merged, with Instant Marquees taking over the in-house production of all Jay Jays apparel.

Daniel and Jemima at the helm, the founders still advising, and the same workshop in Cornwall turning out the same standard of work.
What we make
All of it, in one building
Very few people in this trade make the frame, cut the cloth and run the print themselves. It’s why we can tell you honestly which parts are worth paying more for.
Pop-up gazebos & market stalls
Shelter
The Ultra HD professional series, the Octagonal 50 commercial range, bar and merchandise tents, and the inflatable I-Dome. Plain or fully printed.
Flags & banners
Visibility
Feather, teardrop, festival and rectangle flags, dye-sublimated in Cornwall on a 200°C press, with a full range of bases for soft and hard ground.
Event branding & teamwear
Everything else
Printed tablecloths, cafe barriers, crowd barrier covers, parasols, deckchairs - and Jay Jay Sports custom activewear on premium Italian Lycra.
