Can the Crossbase be used on both hard and soft ground?

Yes! This is the primary advantage of the Crossbase system—you only need to stock one style of base to cover multiple terrains:

  • Hard Ground Setup: Simply deploy the folding metal frame and layer the included water weight ring over the center spindle to anchor your display on concrete, tarmac, or indoor exhibition floors.

  • Soft Ground Setup: Position the base on grass, turf, or soil, with the added benefit of being able to peg the legs down directly into the earth for maximum stability.

What flag sizes are compatible with the Crossbase?

  • 2m & 3m Flags (Recommended): As a rule of thumb, the Crossbase is perfectly balanced and best used with our 2m and 3m teardrop, feather, and rectangle flags.

  • 4m Flags (With Caution): We generally advise against using our tallest 4m flags with a standard Crossbase setup. If you do use a 4m flag, ensure the wind conditions are relatively calm, or ensure you add extra stability—such as pinning the legs down on soft ground or adding an extra sandbag over the frame on hard ground.
